Double Duck, Double Happiness: An Unforgettable Experience by Florentijn Hofman and All Rights Reserved (ARR)

The iconic Rubber Duck, initially brought to Hong Kong in 2013, made a triumphant return to the city in 2023. This time, however, it was not alone. The profound creative studios AllRightsReserved (ARR), in collaboration with Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman, presented "Double Ducks" - a pair of 18-meter-tall inflatable rubber ducks floating in Victoria Harbour, essentially transforming the area into a gigantic bathtub​¹​, a mesmerising art installation that brought double happiness and double joy back to the city.

The rubber ducks were stationed near Tamar Park and the Central and Western District Promenade (Central Section), where they greeted the public until June 18, 2023.

Flashback to 2013

Remember the mammoth rubber duck that graced Victoria Harbour back in 2013? That singular sensation was the brainchild of the same genius, Florentijn Hofman. The duck's visit was a smashing success, causing a city-wide duck frenzy and cementing Hong Kong's place in rubber duck history. Now, the joy is being doubled with the return of the duck, and this time, it brought a buddy!

The Art Installation & The Double Happiness Event

Hong Kong is awash with duck fever. The famous Victoria Harbour is now home to not one but two colossal inflatable rubber ducks that have been making waves, literally and figuratively, in the city skyline.

The Double Ducks, our larger-than-life feathery friends, are back and ready to splash, creating a frenzy of excitement and joy amongst locals and tourists alike.

The "Double Ducks" event in Hong Kong is a collaborative project between the creative brand AllRightsReserved and Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman. The event features a duo of 18-meter-tall inflatable rubber ducks floating on Hong Kong waters, essentially turning Victoria Harbour into a giant bathtub. The pair will be stationed near Tamar Park and the Central and Western District Promenade (Central Section), and the display was open to the public until June 18, 2023¹​.

The Artist - Florentijn Hofman

The mastermind behind this joyful and heartwarming spectacle is none other than the world-renowned Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman. Known for his delightful and whimsical public art, Hofman has once again transformed the ordinary into the extraordinary.
